Indians Can Now Visit Uzbekistan Visa-Free For 30 Days

Indian passport holders will soon be able to travel to Uzbekistan without applying for a visa for stays of up to 30 days.

The announcement was made by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tashkent on August 30, 2026, during Modi's two-day state visit to Uzbekistan.

The new visa-free regime is aimed at making travel between India and Uzbekistan easier while strengthening tourism, trade and cultural ties between the two countries.

Uzbekistan Announces 30-Day Visa-Free Entry For Indians

Under the newly announced regime, Indian citizens will be allowed to enter Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days.

However, the policy has only just been announced. Travellers should wait for the official implementation details and check the latest entry requirements before planning their trip.

The move comes as India and Uzbekistan continue to strengthen their bilateral relationship. President Mirziyoyev said that trade between the two countries crossed US$1 billion for the first time last year.

He also highlighted the growth in business ties between India and Uzbekistan, with the number of joint ventures between the two countries increasing significantly in recent years.

India And Uzbekistan Are Also Strengthening Cultural Ties

The relationship between the two countries extends beyond trade and tourism.

Uzbekistan has institutions dedicated to Indian culture and studies, including the Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Indian Studies.

Yoga has also gained popularity in Uzbekistan. The country established its Yoga Federation in 2018, further adding to the cultural connection between India and Uzbekistan.

With a 30-day visa-free stay, Indian travellers will have enough time to explore multiple cities instead of limiting their trip to just one destination. However, the exact conditions of the new visa-free regime, including its implementation date and entry requirements, should be confirmed through official sources before travelling.
